Recently appointed Managing Director of The CEO Magazine, Daniel Di Loreto now works closely with the world’s most influential leaders and is at the forefront of current business and media news. The CEO Magazine: Tell us about yourself, your business, and what you enjoy doing in your spare time.

Daniel: In the office, I’m a big believer in working hard but smart, and of course having fun doing it—why choose to do something you don’t enjoy? My leadership style is based on the philosophy that we are all equal and strive for the same result: success. I have a strong entrepreneurial streak with a creative flair, which has helped me to navigate my career and contribute to the international success of The CEO Magazine.

At home, I’m a husband to a beautiful wife, and a father to two incredible kids and a couple of pooches to boot. I own a 4wd and have recently purchased a camper trailer in which I plan to create many wonderful memories with my family exploring this sublime country of ours.

What makes a great leader?

A great leader oozes inspiration, motivation, and a burning desire to succeed. They make themselves available to coach and mentor others, and can provide a strategic direction that delivers results. They have experience, are excellent listeners, and act with integrity and honesty, but above all, they demonstrate equality with those they work with by leaving their ego at the front door.

Who inspires you and why?

  • My wife: I’m constantly blown away by how capable she is as a mother.
  • Steve Jobs: Some would say he delivered the pinnacle in the computer and information age. His creative eye and cutting-edge design is something that I deeply appreciate and respect.
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger: How can one not admire his determination, drive, and focus to fulfil any challenge set before him—evident in his success as a politician, fitness icon, actor, ambassador, and entrepreneur. Plus, his action movies are pretty cool too!
